Farmbox LA and Local Parfaits

In the past decade, I’ve really been challenged to think about the way that I eat and how what I put into my body has such a direct effect on how I feel about myself. I love mindfulness with food- and love thinking about the way even a small intentional meal like a slow breakfast can set the course of my day.  I love that I have access to knowledge about food- that I can know how it’s made and where it’s coming from.

When I moved to LA, I loved popping around to all the farmers markets. We have such a plethera of good produce and are spoiled with the access to almost anything. With my love of mindfulness, I care so deeply about where my food is coming from, and am such an encourager of shopping local. One of my favorite companies in LA is a farm to consumer company called Farmbox. They take local products from nearby farmers, and get them to your door- making eating local an easy thing to do. In addition, they carry such amazing local products- anything from olive oil to coffee. It’s pretty amazing.

September happens to be better breakfast month, and before we head into October, I have to do one more post about my favorite meal! It’s a breakkie made with all local produce and products and is one of my favorite morning go-to’s with so much beautiful goodness.

Morning Parfaits with Farmbox

4 large figs, sliced
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup sliced peaches
3/4 cup PUREnola– (or another comparable granola)
2 Tablespoons raw honey
Mylk (or another comparable local milk or yogurt)

Split all of your ingredients equally into two bowls or parfait glasses. Top with your milk or yogurt. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Dive in!

You could use any variation of fruit and toppings!
