honey baked pears

Sometimes I crave something sweet, but look to satiate that craving while sticking to a healthier lifestyle. In those moments, I reach for fruit. Its natural sugar content keeps my sweet tooth happy but stays in line with feeding my body as healthfully and naturally as possible.

Reaching for fruit to have a little something sweet isn’t limited to any old raw apple, though! I keep things interesting and further “trick” my cravings by sweetening things up even more, if you will.

Creating dishes that are not only beautiful to your stomach, but also to your eyes, ensures you’re taking care of yourself from the inside out, and will be happy while doing it. That can mean adding fun flavors and textures, or serving a dish or food in a way you normally wouldn’t.

Case in point, these honey baked pears. These pears make an incredibly simple, delicious, yet healthy sweet when you need a treat. Pears bake so well- their naturally sugary and delicate flavor are only enhanced, and they make the perfect base for a drizzle of honey or dollop of greek yogurt. Then top them with all of the fun things like walnuts and coconut! Perfectly simple, and yes, sweet.

Honey Baked Pears

4 large pears, sliced in half lengthwise
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
Any other toppings of your choosing like cinnamon or coconut shavings!

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Place your pears cut-side up, on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Drizzle pears with olive oil and honey.
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until tender and slightly browned.
Scatter with walnuts and any other topping of your choosing, then serve!
