Thanksgiving is practically here! Can you believe it? Last week I headed down to Austin to throw a Women + Whiskies Party with Noonday Collection. I’m honestly so amazed at the amount of creative women in this world. Each time I host one of these events, I’m blown away at the talent, the entrepreneurial spirit, and the gusto of the women who attend. We gathered Tuesday evening for a cocktail party at South Congress Hotel, and together with my friends Ruthie Lindsey and Jen Pinkston, we hosted a party to celebrate women in Austin, while sipping on our delicious whiskey libations.

While there I met so many lovelies, including Mica May from May Designs. She invited us to lunch the next day, and to come by her offices. Each Wednesday her team gathers together to drink cocktails and connect (favorite!!) so I offered to come by and teach them my favorite Thanksgiving whiskey treat! This whiskey and pumpkin concoction tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass- and all with that delicious whiskey kick.

The Bourbon Pumpkin is so simple and ideal for all of your celebrations this Thanksgiving. It’s the perfect appetizer drink if you’re feeling something sweet or, serve it as an after dinner treat- I guarantee your guests will love it. Also, there are a couple fun variations you can take on this drink… It’s delicious warm- topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. But I prefer mine cold, with a dash of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice!

The Bourbon Pumpkin

1.5 oz bourbon
1.5 tablespoons pumpkin from a can
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Splash of ginger ale
Dash of cinnamon

Shake all of your ingredients except the ginger ale over ice! Strain over a large cube, top with ginger ale, and sprinkle with more cinnamon.
