AN EVENING OF REFLECTING ON 2017 WITH FRIENDS (AND ALOE LIQUEUR COCKTAILS)

December 26, 2017

Hi Friends! I hope you’ve had an incredible season celebrating the holidays filled with much warmth and lots of memories. As we draw close to the end of the year, I wanted to be sure to practice slowing down, being present in the midst of a busy season, and reflect on the year with loved ones. I invited over close friends for an intentional evening to celebrate 2017 with some delicious bites and cocktails made with Chareau’s Aloe Liqueur!

On the menu for the evening were a few of my favorite dishes, a light and refreshing Chareau cocktail (see the recipe below!), and a question for the whole table to reflect on:

What has been the most defining experience of 2017 for you?

It’s that time of year friends, for spooks and costumes and endless sugar rushes. Halloween is a fun holiday; in my mind, it ushers in the rest of fall, and brings us closer to slow times with family and the people we love. a brunch with Thrive & Soul Cycle

July 25, 2016

It’s a pretty obvious thing that I love brunching. A bit back, I got to host such a fun event; it was a Soul-Cycle ride followed by a Thrive brunch. I’ve posted about Thrive a couple of times, mostly because I’m ridiculously obsessed with their algae oil. It’s this perfectly neutral oil derived from algae, and its smoke point is so high that it makes everything delightfully crispy. You can see it here. SO, all that said, when Thrive told me they created an algae protein powder, I was pumped to try it, and use it in a bunch of yummy brunch recipe goodness.

the perfect summer salad

May 13, 2016

About a week ago, two of my favorite LA women came over to play and style some fun dishes at the loft. I am such a fan of having people in my space- maybe it’s the hostess in me, but I actually feel more known when I have the opportunity to welcome friends in and spend afternoons lingering over good food. The darling Jen from The Effortless Chic and Amanda Gallant came over after a chaotic week, and we spent a few hours playing with ingredients, recipe dreaming, and practicing the art of slowing down and just hanging out together. This salad is a go-to for me every summer. With fresh corn and the bite of the red onion, it’s an easy and delicious way to get that fix of summer flavor.

cinco de mayo & ginger beer margaritas!

May 5, 2016

Cinco de Mayo is quite the day! While it has become synonymous with endless margaritas and guacamole galore, the day commemorates the Mexican Army’s victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla and the festivities span from Mexico to across the US and beyond. I for one, can’t get enough of Mexican cuisine and thanks to living in LA, get to experience the best of it whenever a craving hits.

Today is no exception- I’ll be diving into all things Mexican food and drink with a Cinco de Mayo spread!

meraki – own your story.

January 26, 2016

You guys- I’m so excited today to have one of my dearest and most creative friends Heidi Burkey write a guest post. She is a friend from LA with a similar heartbeat, and is one of the most talented storytellers I know. A few months back, I partnered with 3 of my best friends (one of them being Heidi) and together we created a women’s retreat called MERAKI. The word has origins in greek and means to put the essence of who you are into what you do. It has been so much of my life- to find what I love and to pour my energy into creating things that matter to me and bring life to those around me. MERAKI is a retreat that hopes to inspire women to do just that. SO- read a bit about it. And if you’re around in March, join us in Carmel for an amazing weekend of refreshment and intentionality.  Read more…
